SOUP?

Neighbors have been dropping off soup pots all day long. I couldn’t be more delighted! If you’d like to make soup for the homeless encampment at city hall, give me a shout, and come choose your pot! When you deliver your soup, let the volunteers at city hall know that the “Egg Lady” will pick up the pot in the morning. If you need help with delivery, let me know. If you can help with delivery, let me know. You can sign up for the encampment MealTrain here so we don’t all show up at once. https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/nnmwke

Thank you everybody!  Love/Fl!p 360-671-4511

GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST

December 2 – 20, 2020

Habitat For Humanity is running an online gingerbread house contest. This contest is free to enter but please consider making a contribution. Each penny donated  to make sure our homebuyer families have a safe, affordable home for the holidays. Thank you so much for your support! [The Port did not run it’s annual show this year. I’m glad HfH has stepped into the breach!]

SCHOOL POD TEACHERS WANTED $20-$60/hr

Hello!  Our school pod is looking to contract one or two teachers for our small group of kids from January to May/June 2021.  Our school is located in the Sunnyland neighborhood and consists of 9 to 11 students, split between grades 1 and 4.  We are looking for smart, motivated teachers, preferably with two or more years of experience in elementary age classes but are also open to hiring a team of recent graduates.  Please email a one page cover letter that explains your teaching experience, including instruction to multiple grade levels, and your resume to Ken at Caspian.management@gmail.com. ~ Dan Dunne, Utter Street

ZIPPER FIX?

Hi neighbors, I have a nice warm wool P-coat that has a broken zipper. Any suggestions as to who/where to call to get it fixed and/or replaced? I’m not a sewer by nature (and I’m blind so I’m not super willing to try to do the zipper replacement on my own) *smiles*. All suggestions welcome! ~ David Engebretson, Walnut Street, 360-318-5573, Accessible.engineering@gmail.com

BUY OR RENT

My partner and I are looking for a two bedroom home to rent or buy in the Columbia neighborhood or surrounding area. We are both WWU alumni working at local nonprofits here in Bellingham. We love having a space to take care of and neighborhood to become a part of. Our pup Kuma is a mixed breed 70 pound sweetheart on track to become a therapy animal for people in need. We do not smoke or party and are looking for something around $1,500. Please contact me if you might have something available and thank you for taking the time to read this post.  Amanda McKay (503) 803-9155 mandy.mckay9@gmail.com
